A bit About Me
Hello, my name is Lori Wyatt. I was born in Memphis, TN. I lived there until I was six years old. I moved to Oxford, MS. I moved from Oxford to Clanton, AL in the middle of my senior year of high schol. I moved to my cousin Brad's hometown and school. So we got to graduate high school together and that was very special. At the age of nineteen I moved to Hurley, MS. Then two years later moved to Mobile, AL. This is where I currently live. I am a very outgoing and friendly person, so I like moving. I love meeting new people.

I have two sons. Justice is seven years old. He is completing first grade tomorrow! He is ready for summer break. Christopher is my two year old, he is ready for summer break too. We enjoy going to the zoo. We also enjoy swimming in our pool. We love going to the beach. During the summer my boys and I try to go to the beach as much as we can. We love to eat at Flounder's in Pensacola, FL. They have a playground right on the beach. The boys really enjoy going there to eat. I love to learn. I love college classes. I love children. I always try to establish a positive personal relationship with my students. I believe that being a mother has a positive effect on my teaching style. I try to be the kind of teacher that I would want for my own sons. I hope to inspire children to learn. My favorite subject is history. I enjoy television(mindless entertainment).

Time Management
The key to time management is to plan. "Failing to plan is planning to fail" is such a great statement from Randy Pausch. I have personally been there many of times. Stress and procrastination are my two biggest problems. I learned to do the right things, not the wrong things right. I learned from watching the video to make a "To Do List" every day. And break the list down into small parts. I learned to start with the ugliest things first. The things that I do not want to do, I need to do first! I learned that experience comes with time. You can't fake experience.
Randolph Frederick "Randy" Paucsh was an American professor of computer science and human-computer interaction and design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He won numerous awards during his short lifetime. He was founder of the Alice software project. He co-authored five books and seventy articles. His "Last Lecture" is still very popular today. He was even a guest on Oprah. He sadly died of pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008. He advocated for greater federal funding for pancreatic cancer.

I can be honest and say I procrastinate. However, during my long college career I have finally learned that I must not procrastinate. There are only 24 hours in every one's day. So I need to make a list and do the most I can each day. I need to use a planner to help me achieve my goals. I need to find "time wasters" and stop doing them. I must concentrate on one thing at a time. I must use my time wisely. I must be realistic and DO NOT procrastinate!

  1. Wonderful! You made an effort to find out more about Dr. Pausch. You will watch his Last Lecture later in EDM310.

  2. I'm from Mississippi too! I live in Moss Point if you know where that is. I also love to visit the beach as well. I often go to the Pascagoula Beach Park to exercise and to have some me time. Maybe I should take some of your advice and make a list or use a planner as well.
